Patriots rookie standout Christian Gonzalez injures shoulder vs. Cowboys
A participant the Patriots can’t afford to lose left Sunday’s Week 4 matchup with the Cowboys.
Rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez injured his shoulder late within the first quarter Sunday. The Patriots introduced him as being questionable to return.
Trainers checked out Gonzalez on the AT&T Stadium turf earlier than he walked to the workforce’s blue medical tent. After a number of minutes, Gonzalez departed for the locker room with Patriots coaching employees.
Gonzalez was the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Month of September. He was instrumental in limiting the Eagles’, Dolphins’ and Jets’ passing assaults towards high large receivers A.J. Brown, Devonta Smith, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Garrett Wilson because the workforce’s most fun younger participant.
Gonzalez was drafted seventeenth total within the 2023 NFL Draft out of Oregon. The Patriots even have cornerbacks Jack Jones and Marcus Jones on injured reserve. Jonathan Jones was dominated out of Sunday’s sport with an ankle ailment. The workforce is left with Myles Bryant and Shaun Wade as their high cornerbacks.
Immediately after Gonzalez left Sunday’s sport, Cowboys quarterback hit high wideout CeeDee Lamb for a 20-yard landing with Bryant in protection.
The Patriots even have rookie cornerback Ameer Speed on their energetic gameday roster. Safety Jalen Mills has performed cornerback up to now.
