Xbox Series X/S Developer – The Xbox Series X/S console is the latest console from Microsoft Xbox Gaming with various popular video game titles released on the platform. This console has its own fanbase which is no less numerous than other consoles.

Xbox Series X/S consoles are starting to be abandoned by developers according to survey results

The Game Developers Conference (GDC) has just shared some of the results of their survey which discusses the current condition of the video game industry. One of them is discussing the gaming platforms that developers are interested in creating or releasing their games.
Because respondents were allowed to choose more than one platform, the results showed that PC was the most dominant choice with 80% of respondents stating they were interested in developing games for PC. After that, PS5 and Steam Deck are both at 40%, followed by Switch 2 at 39%, while Xbox Series X/S is quite far behind at 20%.

As reported last year, most developers still place gaming platforms on PCs and laptops as their main focus. The reason makes sense as the PC user base is very large and no console can match it.
Apart from that, popular digital stores like Steam generally also provide looser space for developers, aka fewer restrictions than the console ecosystem. In the future, Microsoft’s direction of moving away from a hardware focus will most likely benefit the PS5, PC and possibly the Switch 2. First-party Xbox games, which were previously only released as exclusive games, will increasingly be released on PC and competing consoles, to the point of potentially being immediately available from the first day of release.
