Unreal engine for automatic with mapbox | by mapbox

Epic Games integrates mapbox into a machine that is not real as part of their HMI initiative to enable the generation of infotainment and the experience of the next digital cockpit user – this is a peek.
Step to offer Unreal in a special HMI package brings award winner design features from Unreal Engine to Automotive, starting with GMC’s Hummer EV. These features allow developers to repeat their vision faster and include control versions, visual scripts via blueprints, and direct access to the C ++ code base. With Mapbox, Unreal includes the ability of rendering and map navigation into a real-time 3D manufacturing tool that can be fully adjusted.
The user interface element is created and translated with a unreal engine, allowing a full spectrum of the capability of the game machine on the automotive infotainment screen. Maps are made with Mapbox Studio and then placed in Unreal. EPIC will launch more HMI specific features at the Unreal Engine in the coming months and throughout 2021.
“Strong mapbox design tools, style switching support, and lean performance make it a good solution for mapping. With a series of other features for automotive, this is an interesting navigation solution.” – Joe Andrene, HMI Technical Product Manager, Epic Games.
